The route, zigzagging between two cliffs, takes you gradually up into the heart of the Grande Combe. The Pas de Siara gives a glimpse of the south-alpine lawns of the Trois Becs before a gentle descent into the beech forest.

In all cases, you must bring water and good footwear, respect local residents and, in particular, avoid herds of cattle in alpine pastures. Bivouacs (7pm-8am) are tolerated, but campfires are prohibited. Dogs are allowed throughout the site, but must be kept on a leash to avoid disturbing wildlife and herds. Dogs are not allowed on the Trois Becs mountain pasture, even on a leash, from June 15 to October 15 inclusive.
Don’t hesitate to ask the eco-guards in the Saoû forest (04 75 76 00 09) or the tourist offices in Saoû (04 75 63 10 88) and Bourdeaux (04 75 53 35 90) for advice.
Don’t leave your garbage cans …., but any good hiker will respect these highly magical places!
